First, I studied the S Sp system of learning by Marchus (sic) Santamaria, then I adopted five children from Guatemala! That's a crash course and immersion all in one!
I am just finishing up this course and have only wonderful things to say about it. As a teacher of mostly Spanish-speaking students, there are many things I need to say to them - and thanks to S Sp, I can! Its a fantastic course for beginners. You really gain some communicative competence while driving to work, listening to these CDs.

Recommendation
There is only so much you can learn with any online Spanish course but I was highly impressed with what the Synergy Spanish course offers. An extra bonus was the availability, without added expense, of all course materials in a form which could be burnt on CDs, enabling me to learn Spanish fast while driving my car
! Excellent for beginners. Build on this level with Rocket Spanish or another program. Although, personally I believe staying with one approach is probably best. Both methods work. Four stars for SSp because it of its beginners focus only.
